Taresh Vohra
Type Designer, Indic Scripts
Taresh Vohra is an independent type designer, lettering artist, and educator based in San Francisco. He has worked across the Kannada, Telugu, Devanagari, Latin, and Gurmukhi scripts, and has collaborated with studios such as TypeTogether, Ek Type, Typotheque, and David Jonathan Ross.
Taresh’s work has been recognised nationally and internationally: Naatak, for which he designed the Kannada script, won Best of Discipline in Type Design at TDC71 (2025), and also took the Black and Blue Elephants at Kyoorius 2025. Fit Kannada, designed for David Jonathan Ross, won Bronze and a Certificate of Excellence at TDC 2026. When he’s not grappling with curves and nodes, he’s wrestling at the gym. And when he’s not amassing photos of hand lettering, he’s collecting vinyl records and books.
