What are cookies?

How do we use cookies and analytics?
We use PostHog to understand how our website is used and to identify technical errors. PostHog data is stored in the EU.
For every visitor, PostHog runs in an anonymous, cookieless mode. It counts visits and website errors without placing a cookie or storing information on your device. In this mode, we cannot recognise you from one day to the next. We use this limited anonymous analytics on the basis of our legitimate interest in understanding website traffic and keeping the website working properly.
If you select “Allow” in our cookie banner, PostHog may place a cookie on your device. This allows us to recognise returning visitors and gives us more detailed information about how the website is used, including session recordings. Anything you type is always hidden, and account and checkout pages are never recorded. If you are signed in, your visits may also be linked to your TypeTogether account, including your name and email address.
We remember your choice for six months. You can change it at any time by selecting “Cookie settings” in the website footer.
If you choose “Deny”, PostHog continues only in anonymous, cookieless mode. No analytics cookie is placed on your device and your visits are not linked across different days.
Types of Cookies we use
Necessary cookies
These cookies and similar technologies are required for the website, customer accounts, shopping cart, payments and cookie preferences to work properly. They cannot be switched off through our cookie settings.
- CraftSessionId — Set by TypeTogether. Keeps the visitor’s session active, including the shopping cart and sign-in. It lasts until the browser is closed.
- CRAFT_CSRF_TOKEN — Set by TypeTogether. Protects forms against forged requests. It lasts until the browser is closed.
- …_commerce_cart — Set by TypeTogether. The name begins with a code and the cookie remembers the shopping cart. It lasts for 1 year.
- …_identity — Set by TypeTogether. Keeps a customer signed in. It lasts for 1 hour and is renewed while active, or for 14 days when “Remember me” is selected.
- tt_premier — Set by TypeTogether. Used for Premier members to display Premier content. It lasts for 14 days and is renewed.
- tt_tracking_consent — Set by TypeTogether. Stores the visitor’s cookie choice for 6 months.
- tt_pending_return_url and tt.packageCart.… — Set by TypeTogether in session storage. They return visitors to the page they came from after signing up and keep the licence configurator’s state. They last until the tab is closed.
- _ph_opt_in_out… — Set by PostHog in local storage. Remembers the visitor’s analytics choice. It has no expiry and is stored only after a choice has been made.
- __stripe_mid and __stripe_sid — Set by Stripe on the payment page for fraud prevention. They last for 1 year and 30 minutes respectively.
Optional cookies
Optional cookies are only used where indicated below. Where consent is required, they are activated only after the visitor selects “Allow.”
- tt_theme — Set by TypeTogether. Remembers whether a visitor has chosen light or dark mode. It lasts until the browser is closed. This is a preference cookie.
- ph_…_posthog and ph_… — Set by PostHog in cookies, local storage and session storage. They recognise returning visitors and enable session recordings. The cookie lasts for 1 year, while session storage lasts until the tab is closed. These are analytics technologies and are only used after the visitor selects “Allow.”
