The book Příběhy Čechů, kteří odešli do zahranič (emigrace a exil 1848–1989)’, was beautifully designed by Prague-based Filip Blažek, using Veronika’s typeface Maiola.
Special printing technique
Příběhy Čechů, kteří odešli do zahraničí (emigrace a exil 1848–1989), this project is one of the occasions when content, design and typeface harmonise perfectly. The bilingual book describes stories of Czech emmigrants that left between 1849 and 1989. Its unusual colour scheme and nice binding highlight the quality of it further. Each chapter is printed in two Pantone colours, one for each language. Any new chapter takes over one of the previous colours and adds a new one. In this way, a total of 7 Pantone colours are used, and each chapter has a unique colour combination.
