Abril in Étapes 227, which names Alverata typeface of the year

Issue 227 of French magazine Étapes uses TypeTogether’s Abril Text in body texts and Abril Display for headlines and section openings. While Abril Text creates a warm and inviting texture, Abril Display contributes elegance and strong presence on the page. 

Additionally, the current issue features a selection of the best 50 typefaces of 2014, with the first place award going to Dr Gerard Unger for Alverata. Stefan Ellmer’s Essay Text and Ermin Međedović’s Lipa Agate also were included in these esteemed awards.
Wining is one thing, but to see a typeface used in heavy rotation is another kind of compliment. Étapes Magazine also chose TypeTogether’s Abril Text and Abril Display for its announcement of the 50 best typefaces of 2014. The Abril family is a credible and contemporary newsface covering every conceivable parameter for setting editorial text, from enormous edge-to-edge headings to the smallest readable text.
