English designer Michael Christophersson chose Pilar Cano’s Edita for the project Af kynjum og víddum … og loftbólum andans (Of sexes and dimensions and air bubbles of the spirit), a book of Icelandic poetry by Pétur Örn Björnsson.
Poetry
Christophersson explaines how he ‘hunted fairly exhaustively for the perfect typeface to convey the emotion and there was something that attracted me to Edita for this. I found there to be a warmth and friendliness to the letters that was fitting and it took no convincing of the author that this was a good choice’.
Pilar Cano’s Edita is used widely in the book, both for titles as for text. In Christophersson’s own words, working with ‘Edita was an absolute pleasure, multiple glyph choices, ligatures and alternate numerals all beautifully crafted’.
