Emma Marichal

Graduating from the EsadType program in Amiens in 2021, Emma Marichal is trained in typeface design and font engineering. She collaborates with various type foundries, including the open-source distributor Google Fonts, where she contributes to font production, quality assurance innovation, and repository maintenance. In 2025 she launched her independent type foundry Plomb Type, with her friend Max Esnée, whom she met at EsadType.
Emma’s Ploquine family won the 2022 Gerard Unger Scholarship and was awarded a TDC Award in 2025.
